J. Cliff Hughes O. D.Dr. Hughes was born and raised in Fort Smith, Arkansas. After graduating from the University of Central Arkansas, he attended Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN. He then completed a family practice residency at West Tennessee Eye with a heavy emphasis in ocular diseases such as macular degeneration, diabetic eye disease and glaucoma. He was in private practice in Oklahoma City for 10 years but then returned to Arkansas in 2018 with his wife Nichole and four children: Georgia, Hudson, Knox, and Magnolia.
Dr. Hughes enjoys sports vision training with Razorback student-athletes, helping dry eye patients using new technology, and taking care of eyecare needs for patients from 6months old on.
In his free time, he is an active member at University Baptist Church in Fayetteville. He enjoys spending outdoor time with his wife and kids and their two labrador retrievers (Maple and Huck). If you want to start up a conversation with him, ask him what book he's currently reading.
